Inside My Wedding Day Emergency Kit
Everything a Day-Of Coordinator Carries So You Don't Have To Think About ItOne of the things I hear most from my couples during wedding planning is, "I didn't even think about that!"
The dress that got pollen on it twenty minutes before the ceremony.
The florist who needed a band-aid after encountering a rose thorn.
The best man who forgot the rings in his car.
These are the moments no one puts in the Canva doc or the Google spreadsheet. After all, you are planning and executing a huge and exciting celebration—it’s almost impossible to expect the celebrants and guests of honor to think of every single possible nuance and contingency plan on the day of.
My emergency kit is my pride and joy because it’s carefully curated (inspired by r/HerOneBag!) and each item serves a purpose. Most of my clients never have to see it–but rest assured, it’s there if needed, and any hiccups are handled before anyone gets a chance to notice. If you've ever wondered what a day-of coordinator actually carries, this post is for you.

Here's everything I carry into every event as a day-of wedding coordinator and event planner.
Clothing + Quick Fixes
Safety pins – in two sizes
Fashion tape – for straps and necklines that won’t stay put
Mini sewing kit – with neutral colored thread
Mini scissors
Tide-to-Go pen – ‘nough said.
Health + Comfort
Advil – for headaches, sore feet, and the tension that builds up before you hit the dance floor
Band-Aids – in multiple sizes for blisters and more
Tampons
Antiperspirant – I keep a neutral scent in my kit, but in a pinch, it really doesn’t matter as long as you don’t smell like B.O.!
Hand cream – especially for any close-up, detailed shots
Ear plugs – I always have my reusable ones on me for loud moments or when I want to take my lunch break while the music is bumping
Floss – nifty little string can come in handy in multiple scenarios
Hair + Appearance
Bobby pins
Mini elastic hair ties
And my personal underdog: a matchbook.
They’re compact, they’re cute, and I always somehow end up with one as a party favor from a wedding. Consider it your ‘something borrowed’! I’ve been to a wedding where the rechargeable lighter for the unity candles were not charged, and luckily, I happened to have a matchbook from a previous wedding I attended as a guest to save the day. Now they live in my kit permanently.
Final Thoughts
A well-stocked emergency kit isn’t about expecting disaster. It’s about being the kind of coordinator who handles things before they become a scenario. I try my best to think a few steps ahead so that it’s one less thing my clients need to worry about.
Most couples never see the kit come out. And that’s exactly how it should be!
If you want someone carrying all of this into your wedding day and handling everything else behind the scenes–I’d love to connect.
